India Bestowed Military Honors on Raila, Modi Personally Ordered Airlift: Mudavadi


Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has expressed high praise for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, disclosing that the Indian leader personally directed the military airlift of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s remains to Mumbai with full state honors.

  Mudavadi characterized this action as an extraordinary gesture, marking a historic tribute to one of Africa’s most prominent statesmen. During a solemn state funeral service, Mudavadi stated that he was given the responsibility, with the complete agreement of the Odinga family and under the direct orders of President William Ruto, to head the government delegation that traveled to India shortly after Raila’s death on October 15. “Your Excellency and Mama Aida, I would like to express my gratitude for allowing me this unique opportunity…to perform one final honor, which was to lead a delegation on the afternoon of October 15, just hours after his passing, to India, so that we could join those present and return with the remains of Raila Amolo Odinga. It is a privilege, a profoundly moving moment,” he remarked. Mudavadi recounted that upon their arrival in India on Kenya Airways flight KQ202, the delegation was welcomed at a restricted military terminal where they learned that Prime Minister Modi had personally intervened to expedite military protocols. “At the military stand…the Prime Minister of India had indeed stated that the Government of India would extend all possible military honors to Raila in the shortest time frame,” Mudavadi noted. “The Government of India provided a military aircraft from Kochi to transport Raila to Mumbai, where we received him, and he was accompanied by the Indian military.” He praised Odinga as a figure whose political tenacity, intellectual brilliance, and ability to articulate the aspirations of ordinary citizens rendered him a monumental presence in Kenya’s democratic evolution.

The financial mismanagement at ENOOMATASIANI GIRLS SECONDARY SCHOOL has been brought to light.

  The most recent report from the Auditor General for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, has uncovered mismanagement at Enoomatasiani High School under the administration of Principal Tabitha Mbabu (TSC No. 224359). There are calls for her transfer over mismanagement and not very impressive academic excellence under her leadership. As per the report, the statement of receipts and payments indicates that the school's fund income from parents' contributions amounts to Kshs. 89,627,445, as detailed in Note 4 of the financial statements. An examination of the school's fee structure during the review period revealed that the school fees were raised beyond the limits set by the Ministry of Education (MOE), resulting in an unauthorized increase in annual fees of Kshs. 15,000 for form one students and Kshs. 18,000 for students in other classes.
