KCSE, KPSEA, and KJSEA: 3.4 Million Learners Prepare for Exams Commencing on October 17


The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) is set to deploy 54,782 invigilators and 12,126 supervisors to oversee this year's Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.

  On Friday, KNEC Chief Executive Officer David Njengere announced that the Council has also appointed 24,213 centre managers to oversee the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) and the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA). He indicated that the field administration of the national examinations and assessments will commence on October 17. "The field administration of the 2025 examinations and assessments is planned to begin on Friday, October 17, and conclude on Friday, November 21, 2025," Njengere clarified. He further mentioned that the examination cycle has already begun with the registration of candidates, which took place from January 30 to March 30, 2025. A total of 996,078 candidates have registered for KCSE, while 1,298,089 candidates are set to participate in KPSEA. KNEC will also conduct the inaugural KJSEA for 1,130,669 candidates, representing the first cohort under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC). In total, KNEC will oversee national examinations and assessments for 3,424,836 candidates nationwide.
