Makini School Kisumu organized a thrilling inter-school swimming competition that united young swimmers from various parts of the region, celebrating skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

This event also served as the official inauguration of the school’s newly built swimming pool, which measures 25m by 17m, making it the largest among private schools in Kisumu. In partnership with the Kisumu Aquatic Association, the tournament included competitions in several categories. Participants demonstrated remarkable talent and determination, with trophies awarded to the winners, medals to the runners-up, and certificates of participation given to all competitors. Makini School-Kisumu exhibited outstanding skill, emerging as the overall champion across all categories, amassing a total of 2013 points to secure victory in the tournament. Mr. Horace Mpanza, Regional Managing Director of Makini Schools, praised the Kisumu campus team for organizing a well-executed event that embodied Makini’s principles of excellence and community spirit. “This tournament united learners from over 10 different schools in a spirit of healthy competition and camaraderie,” stated Mr. Mpanza. “The enthusiasm and energy displayed by the swimmers and their supporters reaffirm our dedication to fostering holistic development through sports and co-curricular activities.” With the opening of this new facility, the school enhances its sports infrastructure, offering students opportunities to cultivate essential swimming skills.
