MP Advocates For Equity In The Upcoming Police Recruitment Process

Sirisia Member of Parliament John Waluke has emphasized the need for fairness, inclusivity, and transparency in the upcoming police recruitment process scheduled to commence on Friday.

Waluke, addressing an audience at Chekalini ward in Lugari Sub County, urged the National Police Service Commission to ensure that the recruitment process is free from the malpractices that have marred previous exercises. "I am urging all individuals involved in the recruitment process across the 47 counties to uphold fairness and transparency. "They should provide every youth who arrives at the recruitment center with an equal opportunity, free from discrimination based on ethnicity or corruption. We seek to recruit those who are deserving and prepared to serve the nation," he stated. Waluke highlighted that President William Ruto’s administration is focused on strengthening the country’s security sector, which is why it plans to hire 10,000 new police officers. He encouraged communities in the western region to live together harmoniously, irrespective of their tribal and political differences. "The western region is now fully integrated into the government, and we have our share as a region. Regardless of whether you are a Luhya, Kalenjin, Sabaot, Teso, Kikuyu, Luo, or Kamba, you are now part of us, and Western is your home. "I want us to coexist as a family, just as the president is leading efforts to ensure that all communities are united and living in peace," he remarked. The lawmaker, who leads the Western Members of Parliament caucus, urged residents who do not possess National Identity cards to obtain them so they can register as voters in significant numbers.
