Police Officer Loses Loaded Pistol Magazine During Night Operation in Navakholo


Police in Navakholo,Kakamega county are investigating an incident in which a loaded pistol magazine went missing during a night operation against illicit brews and drugs.


The officer, who was issued with a Jericho pistol  had been on an operation on Sunday   night together with five  colleagues.


They were conducting a crackdown on illicit brews and narcotics in Luagba and Mukweso areas.


The officers returned to the station at around 1:30 a.m. with two suspects Noel Awire and Christine Kweyu who were  found in possession of 15 litres and 5 litres of chang’aa respectively. 


It was during the return of firearms to the armoury that the officer an Inspector  noticed the magazine was missing. 


A search was immediately conducted at the operation sites, but the magazine could not be found.
