Raila’s Final Flight Home: KQ Crew’s Emotional In-Flight Tribute


  The journey back home was filled with emotion for the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, as the pilots and crew of Kenya Airways offered heartfelt tributes during the repatriation of his remains from Mumbai, India.

 Captain Saviemaria Ondego, who was in command of the flight heading to Nairobi with Odinga’s body, praised the late statesman for his lifelong dedication to peace and his unwavering commitment to tackling Africa’s challenges — including the advancement of aviation throughout the continent. "Today we recognize a profound loss for both Kenya and Africa. On behalf of the Kenya Airways family, we express our sincerest condolences on the passing of the Right Honorable Raila Odinga — a visionary leader and a devoted Pan-Africanist," Captain Ondego stated during the flight. "His impact goes beyond borders, motivating many through his commitment to peace and our resolve to confront the challenges facing our continent," she continued.
