RAO001, KQ Flight Ferrying Raila Odinga’s Body, Arrives At JKIA
The Kenya Airways flight RAO001, which is transporting the remains of former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga, has successfully landed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). President William Ruto is presiding over the State reception, accompanied by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, former President Uhuru Kenyatta, high-ranking government officials, and members of the Odinga family, in a dignified ceremony commemorating Odinga’s final return to his homeland. The aircraft, which took off from Kochi, India, earlier on Thursday, altered its call sign from KQ203 to RAO001 upon entering Kenyan airspace, serving as a symbolic homage to the late opposition leader. Odinga is scheduled to be interred on Sunday at his home in Bondo, Siaya County, following arrangements made by the National Funeral Committee, co-chaired by Deputy President Kindiki and Senator Oburu Oginga.
