Senegalese President Bassirou Faye to Serve as Chief Guest at the Mashujaa Day Celebrations in Kitui
Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye will be honored as the guest of honor at the ongoing Mashujaa Day celebrations taking place at Ithookwe Stadium in Kitui. President Faye, who arrived in the country on Saturday, was welcomed by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki upon his arrival at the stadium. He is among the distinguished foreign leaders attending the national event that pays tribute to Kenya’s heroes and heroines. In addition to participating in the celebrations, President Faye is also scheduled to undertake a State visit aimed at enhancing bilateral relations between Kenya and Senegal. President William Ruto arrived at Ithookwe Stadium in Kitui shortly before 9:00 AM to lead the nation in this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations. Upon his arrival, President Ruto entered the ceremonial open-top Land Rover Defender and was driven around the stadium, waving to the enthusiastic crowd. Thousands of jubilant Kenyans filled the stands, waving small national flags and chanting in celebration as the Head of State acknowledged their greetings. The President’s arrival marked the beginning of the day’s festivities, which honor Kenya’s heroes and heroines who have played a significant role in the country’s freedom and development. Security remains stringent at the venue as the nation pays tribute to its heroes and heroines who have contributed to Kenya’s freedom, unity, and development.
