Stakeholders are now questioning the capability of Earlybird SENIOR school to deliver quality education for grade ten
Parents from Nairobi and Machakos counties are currently urging officials from the Ministry of Education to evaluate private schools that are planning to open next year for grade ten learners. The parents' concerns stem from advertisements issued by the school's administration encouraging parents to enroll their children when the first term commences next year. Sources close to the school's management indicate that the institution claims to have hired 15 teachers to instruct grade ten students; however, the reality is that they have merely promoted teachers who were previously teaching grades 9 and 8. This situation implies that the teachers they claim to have employed lack the necessary qualifications to teach grade ten students. Moreover, the school possesses only two laboratories, which is insufficient for conducting science classes. Consequently, this means that students will not receive optimal practical lessons. The management asserts that the school will cater to both boarding and day students, yet a significant concern remains whether the ministry officials have conducted inspections of the boarding facilities and provided a favorable report regarding their safety. It is essential for ministry officials to visit this school to verify if it meets the minimum standards before permitting student admissions next year. Quality education is crucial for the future of students, and it is imperative that institutions are not allowed to operate solely for profit from parents without ensuring safety and a commitment to quality education.
