The Nairobi City County Public Service Board has been cautioned regarding the selection of Ward Administrator Mourice Otieno Werah for the role of Borough Manager.

The Nairobi County Public Service Board has received a warning against the appointment of the corrupt Ward Administrator, Mourice Otieno Werah, as Borough Manager.

According to a letter in our possession, which was sent to the Board Chairman, Thomas Kasoa, a concerned resident of Nairobi, residing in the ward where Werah serves as an administrator, claims that he is a corrupt individual who should be demoted, dismissed, and held accountable for his wrongful actions. The letter asserts that Werah is a highly corrupt public official who has extorted funds from developers while overlooking illegal activities within his jurisdiction. Furthermore, the letter indicates that he has been deceiving unsuspecting Nairobians by issuing fraudulent documents, including business permits and change of user forms. Interestingly, Werah has assumed the responsibilities of Planning Officers and appears more focused on planning matters as he exploits unsuspecting developers and investors. This is precisely why he is deemed unsuitable for the position of Borough Manager. On numerous occasions, he has invoked the name of Planning Chief Officer Patrick Analo, falsely claiming that the protection fees he collects from developers are forwarded to Analo. Our attempts to reach Werah for clarification on these allegations were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to our calls.
