Why parents and students of Ng'etmoi Girls High School are requesting the immediate transfer of Principal Milka Kibusio

Tensions are escalating at Ng'etmoi Girls High School as students, parents, and stakeholders demand that the Teachers Service Commission promptly transfer their principal. The frustrated stakeholders, including members of the Parents Association (PA) and the Board of Governors (BoG), are vocally criticizing the principal for allegedly mismanaging and undermining the school. Kibusio was previously transferred from Sangarau Girls High School after facing community backlash regarding mismanagement and the misuse of her position, as well as imposing unlawful fees on parents. Since her appointment, she has failed to initiate any significant development projects and has resorted to intimidation, coercion, and threats against those who express differing opinions. Her management style is characterized by authoritarianism, and she operates independently without consulting her deputies when making important policy decisions. She is known to pressure PA members into endorsing illegal actions while showing little regard for the board. Since her tenure began, the academic standards of the school have fluctuated, and non-teaching staff and suppliers are owed substantial sums due to mismanagement. Parents have now declared their desire for a local leader to assume control of the school in January; otherwise, they will prevent her from entering the school premises at that time. Her exit from Sangarau Secondary School in September 2023 was tumultuous, as the transfer was associated with community concerns regarding her management practices and misuse of authority.
